I have read 'A Child Called It" and now I'm looking for more books in the same genre... I prefer memoirs and stories written by the survivor. Do you know of any books that are really heart-wrenching and shocking of this kind?

People say it is. I have been to rehab myself, and I think it's more like there is nothing for that person to live for, hence why they let themselves be subjected to jails, institutions, and death.
