Weird for a non-addict to go to AA/NA meetings? Would that be rude of me?

I’m not a user or addict, but my family has a history of substance abuse. My dad is Alaska Native (Native Americans have high stats for alcoholism, drug use, and suicide) and his siblings are all attending AA and some NA meetings regularly. Four of my cousins have had big problems with drugs and alcohol.

I kind of want to go to a meeting just to understand it all better. Early on I realized that I’d be genetically prone to addictive behavior, so I’ve always steered clear of drugs and alcohol. I want to better understand that side of my family and other people with addictions.

Would it be considered rude of me to go to a AA or NA meeting without being an alcoholic or drug user myself? Or would that be okay? I don’t want to make people there uncomfortable / don’t want to be barging in on something that I shouldn’t.

Thanks.
