I have concerns and questions about a case worker, please help?

I have been given a case worker from a local mental health place that tries to rehabilitate people. This case worker had me sign a ton of papers giving her access to all of my hospital records, and to my family practitioner. She also said she will be present when I see a psychiatrist, but she won’t be present if I talk to a professional therapist.
Why would she want to be in the room when I talked to a psychiatrist? Why does she want access to all my hospital records? Why would she want to be able to communicate with my family doctor?
Do case workers identify peoples past substance abuse issues, and then tell all their doctors not to prescribe controlled drugs?
Anxiety medication like valium really helps keep me calm, and I have no plans to abuse them. I just really don’t like the idea of a case worker having so much access to my life.
