need help, getting off pain meds?

ok, for the past 4 years i have been put on lots of pain meds for a back problem, i dont want them, it feels like they are running my life, i take 2-3 lorcets 7.5 mg a day, how hard will withdrals be? What can i do to make it easier?

thank you, i would love for the pain to be managed, i am just having a hard time with the thought of having to take meds and feeling dependent on them…my family has a long line of drug abuse (my father died of an od) and i dont want my kids to be exposed to any of that….
