what are the effects that you feel when you take xanax???

i heard that it soothes you and makes you feel good. how does it make you feel good?? i got it prescribed for insomnia and i never abuse drugs but i was wondering what the ffects were

If you are on the right dosage it makes you feel "normal" like you can deal with every days life, too low and it does not work (discuss this with your psychiatirist, too much and you go to sleep)

i take xanax for 3 years now its hard to get off
the effects on 2mg its a high feeling drowsy groggy slur speech don’t take it like candy be-careful with this drug!

It makes me fall right asleep…and stay asleep. I usually feel a little groggy in the morning and I do feel more relaxed. But be careful as it is addicting. I hate taking meds and am very careful about how I am with taking it. I haven’t tried it during the day, so I don’t know any other effects than the good sleep!

There are a few people on this site that need some drugs to reduce their stress and jealous tendencies though because these little girls cannot deal with the feelings that Melrose and I have for each other.

I wonder why your doctor prescribed it for insomnia since their are other medications that don’t cause dependency on the market. If you aren’t experiencing other anxiety symptoms I don’t know why you’d take Xanax. Bottom line is this…..ask questions of your doctor. Doctors aren’t gods, if you are concerned about your treatment ask questions.

I took it before I went to a funeral (1.0 mg) that was very stressful, and instead of having the usual effect of sleepiness, it made me very happy, which was very weird for attending a funeral.

It will impair your normal function level especially since you have never taken it before. It will make you very sleepy but since thats the point I think this could be very helpful to you. I recomment taking it about an hour and a half before bedtime and definately plan on staying in when you take it the couple of times.
