can anybody help me? fellow people with anxiety?

ok so i just got diagnosed with anxiety today, i bought some valerian root pills and some melatonin pills, who else has anxiety and can help me cope with some of my symptoms?
my anxiety was mostly caused by
my past drug abuse
and a fight i got into that i really hurt a guy in, i ended up fracturing his skull, and almost killing him, i do not fight anymore because of that
the valerian is to make me have less stress and worry, the melatonin is too make me go to sleep at night.
but i need to know how much to take? i took one valerian today and it kind of help althought the bottle says for an adult you can take up to six? im 5′ 10” with a muscular build if that helps. and i already know how much melatonin to take.
any help is much appreciated. thank you
