Some people just never feel the need to resort to such things.

Nov 06, 09 at 12:25 pmwhy should you be? many of us have been through severe difficulties, broken homes ,violence and personal suffering and other issues. still we have not turned to drugs or drink or needed counselling.
probably more to do with mindset and upbringing.
lets face it everybody who has trauma or crisis can turn to these as a form of crutch but in reality they have simply failed to deal with situation and are in denial.
A normally adjusted person will deal with problems and even after being brought down by life’s problems simply pick them selves up,dust off and march on along life’s highway. welcome to rest of mankind who do not use or see reason to use excuses not to deal with life’s issues.

Nov 06, 09 at 8:46 pmHow strange. You must know that whatever it is you’re going through is only temporary and that life will change. Be grateful you’re not foolish enough seek solace with alcohol or drugs; that would just make a bad situation worse. Hang in there. Sometimes it helps to talk things over with a counselor: you are not doomed to live a life of quiet desperation. You have a choice. You’ve been smart enough to avoid the pharmaceutical footfall and the alcoholic abyss. You’ll figure things out. Best of luck!
