Real Bad Drug Addiction?

Written on November 7, 2009 – 5:38 am | by Drug Abuse Help

I have a really good friend but just recently I’ve found out she abuses drugs. It really pains me to see her shooting up and everything. I’ve told her to stop but she can’t. I’m sure she wants to though, But the thing is I miss the old her. We’d always go to the mall or out to the movies. But something else has changed about her, I mean not just the drugs. Things just aren’t the way they used to be last week.
Is there anything I can do? Or should I just let her solve this one on her own?

Since you believe that she herself wants to stop, try talking her into going to rehab, explain to her that voluntarily going will not get you arrested. Explain to her that as a friend you care about her health and well being. If she does not want to stop then there is not much you can do.

Drugs made people change and that’s a fact. You can blame everything on drugs but not on your friend. Make her realize what she is doing to her self. She is not only destroying her health and mental status but also her relationship with other people especially her love ones and people close to her.

If she is really bad then there is only 1 thing that will help her and that is going to jail. A person who is so gone into drugs just can’t be helped unless they want to and alot of times they don’t even know when they reach that point. As a friend the best kind of love you can give her is tough love. You should watch that show Intervention that comes on A&E and see if she is really that bad and you’ll know what to do but I have a friend that sticks needles in her arm and she thinks she doesn’t have a problem when I tell her that’s not normal unless you are a diabetic she disappears for days. I have a brother in-law that had a really bad Pain Pill addiction and if he had not gotten locked up he would be dead for sure. My mom was hooked on crack and her own children weren’t enough to make her stop. When someone has an addiction the best thing to do is stand back so you dint get caught up in their world-wind. Sounds hard core but so is what their doing.

If it is really as bad as you say it is, then there is nothing you can do yourself except get her professional help. Whenever something gets out of the persons control and they can no longer stop themselves from doing something that is hurting them, they need professional help, before it is to late.
